Unpacking and Jib Luff Wire Insertion

The sails will arrive in a roll. To help minimise the sails taking on a tendency to roll up, it is suggested to remove them from the roll and store flat until rigged onto spars.

The luff wire is coiled and put in the pack as a separate item, for insertion after delivery.

Please do not lose the wire when unpacking, be careful to find it in the pack and keep it safe.

The bottom eye in the wire is easily identified and appears as pictured above

The top eye has been squeezed flatter than the bottom eye, see picture above. This is the end that is inserted into the luff pocket. 

The squeezed down eye must be inserted into the luff pocket at the tack of the jib

Once the top eye is in the luff pocket continue to carefully push the wire up the luff until the eye exits the luff pocket at the head.
